Integrations overview
Integrations connect VoDialer to systems you already use. Every connection is optional. Open Setup, then Integrations. It has four tabs: Connections, Delivery log, API keys and For developers.
What each connector is for
Section titled “What each connector is for”| Connector | On screen | Use it to |
|---|---|---|
webhook |
Webhooks | Send a signed event to your own system the moment something happens, with automatic retries. See webhooks. |
vicidial |
VICIdial | Send people who say yes to your VICIdial and keep their outcomes in step. See three ways to work together. |
crm_http |
CRM | Update your CRM when a call ends or a person is handed over, using a request you design. See CRM calls. |
consent_cert |
Consent certificates | Check that each person really gave consent and keep the proof. See consent certificates. |
recording_import |
Recording import | Pull recordings from an old system so the quality reviewer can score them. See recording import. |
The inbound API is not a connector. It is how your system sends people, do-not-call numbers and outcomes into VoDialer, with an API key. See the inbound API and API keys and scopes.
Do this: connect something
Section titled “Do this: connect something”- On Connections, under Connect something, press Connect next to a kind. VICIdial says Advanced setup.
- Fill in Name and the fields for that kind. Passwords and keys are saved encrypted and show only as “Saved” afterwards.
- Press Connect.
- A webhook shows its signing secret once. Copy it.
- Press Test on the connection’s row.
Status
Section titled “Status”| Screen | API status | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Working | active |
Receives events. |
| Switched off | disabled |
Stored and valid, but gets no events or deliveries. |
| Needs attention | error |
Set by the system after 50 failures in a row. |
Press Switch off or Switch on to change it. Switching on a connection in error re-arms it.
The screen creates every connection as active. Through the API you can create one as disabled and switch it on after you have tested it.
Test sends a real check to the other side: a ping for a webhook, a version request for VICIdial, a sample request for CRM, a key check for consent certificates and a look at the source for recording import. The answer is a plain sentence: “It works. It answered in 120 ms.” or “It did not work”, with the reason, such as “It refused the user name or password.”
Delivery log and retry
Section titled “Delivery log and retry”The Delivery log tab lists every event sent, filterable by Everything, Gave up, Retrying, Waiting and Delivered.
A failed delivery is retried: first after 10 seconds, then with longer and longer gaps up to 2 hours, until 24 hours after the event. Then it says Gave up. Press Try … again on a row to retry at once. That gives it a fresh 24 hours.
Phone numbers in events are cut to the last four digits unless the connection is set to include them. Web addresses must be public: private addresses are refused, and redirects are not followed.
