Cost per hand-over and sale

Each cost figure is one number divided by another:

AI voice cost in the period, divided by the count of the thing.

Figure Divided by
Cost per person reached Reached a person
Cost per hand-over To your team
Cost per billable hand-over Billable
Cost per sale Sales

The Results page and the CSV exports show cost per hand-over and cost per sale. The other two are in the API only. You can work them out yourself from the AI voice cost and the counts. If the count is 0, the figure is a dash. A dash is not zero cost. It means there was nothing to divide by.

The counts are defined in reading the funnel.

The cost is what the AI voice used, added up when each AI session ends. It does not include:

  • Phone carrier charges. Your carrier bills those and VoDialer does not know them.
  • Your agents’ pay.
  • List and lead costs.
  • Cost of the quality reviews or list checks.

So “cost per hand-over” is not your full cost per hand-over. It is the part VoDialer can measure. Add your carrier and staffing costs outside the product before you decide what a hand-over costs you.

  • Compare like with like. A campaign that talks to people longer uses more AI seconds for each call.
  • Watch the direction over several days. One day with few hand-overs makes the figure jump.
  • A high cost per hand-over with a low answer rate often points to the list or the calling hours, not the bot. Break down by List, Vendor or Hour of day to see.
  • A falling cost per sale is good only if sales did not fall too. Check the counts beside it.

These numbers are made up to show the arithmetic. They are not a benchmark and not from any real campaign.

A campaign in one week:

Count Number
Reached a person 400
To your team (hand-overs) 50
Billable 40
Sales 8
AI voice cost $120.00

Then:

  • Cost per person reached: $120 / 400 = $0.30
  • Cost per hand-over: $120 / 50 = $2.40
  • Cost per billable hand-over: $120 / 40 = $3.00
  • Cost per sale: $120 / 8 = $15.00

If your carrier charged $45 for the same week, your cost per sale would be about ($120 + $45) / 8 = $20.63. VoDialer would still show $15.00.
