Consent proof

When your rules require consent, a person can be called only if there is a record that they agreed. Without one the call is held back as “No proof of consent”. With an old one it is held back as “Consent too old”.

  • Only records of kind tcpa count. This is the kind every import creates by default.
  • The record must not be withdrawn and must not have run out.
  • It must be no older than the age cap. The rule is consent_max_age_days, with a starting value of 365 days. See rules and counsel review.
  • A callback skips the age cap only. The record must still exist and be unexpired.
Source What it is Needs a certificate link
trustedform A TrustedForm certificate Yes
jornaya A Jornaya record Yes
web_form Your own web form No
verbal Agreement spoken, entered by hand or import No
manual Entered by hand No

Case, spaces and hyphens are forgiven: Web Form and web-form are stored as web_form. How certificates work is on consent certificates.

To look at a person’s records:

  1. Open Safety, then Consent.
  2. Under What did this person agree to?, type the phone number and select the look-up button.
  3. Each record shows its source, the date they agreed, when it runs out, and a link to the certificate if there is one.

To add records:

  1. Under Add records, write one person per line: phone number, source, the date as YYYY-MM-DD (optional), and a certificate link for TrustedForm or Jornaya.
  2. Submit, then read the summary: how many were stored, already on record, or turned away.

To withdraw one:

  1. Find the record and select Withdraw.
  2. Give a reason. Calls to that number are held back from now on, unless another valid record exists.
  • The date they agreed cannot be in the future.
  • If you give an expiry date it must be after the date they agreed.
  • A batch answers for every line. A refused line is never an error for the whole batch, so read the summary. The same number, kind, source and date sent twice is stored once and reported as already on record.
  • A batch holds up to 1,000 records. The limit for the whole request is 50 MB.
  • Any staff role can withdraw consent, because that only makes calling stricter.

Running out soon lists records that expire within 30 days, or ran out in the last 30 days, soonest first. It shows each person by the first characters of a fingerprint, never the number. Use it to ask for fresh consent before calls stop.
